About us
Born in Ghana in the 80s, a group of five people, we met each other at a young age. We have always been interested in everything happening worldwide and even more so in Ghana, while we’ve been trying to keep ourselves well informed. The advancements deeply inspire us in technology we have all been witnessing, and we do believe that the imminent destiny of journalism lays almost entirely in the digital world.
This is what pushed us into starting our blog, but the idea came from a good friend of ours, called Sam. Back in the days, he used to visit us in Ghana almost every year until he started working for an online magazine and was so busy that he didn’t have as much free time as before and couldn’t afford the leisure to come and visit us for a really long time. What happened is that one day we decided to take a trip, packed our bags and went to see him instead.
This is when the spark came and he highly influenced us. He basically showed us many of the great bloggers and what they’ve been doing all along. As mention earlier, we’ve been eagerly following the events happening throughout the country since young age as journalism has always been a passion to us. So, this is how the idea of our blog came to life.
And now, we have the goal to deliver news and features on current affairs to all of you, as soon as they occur. This is probably the biggest advantage of digital news sources over print. We can all imagine how long it takes for print content to get published and all of the processes it must go through until it finally reaches the consumer. The digital form is far quicker and it can instantly reach us. At the same time, the online world is full of content that is not necessarily accurate. Everyone can write on the internet and that can leave space for a dose of creativity and imagination from the writer’s side. So, it is important that we learn to evaluate and differentiate between the different sources of information online.
And having that said, we will be striving to deliver to every possible reader an accurate coverage of the current affairs, news and events from Ghana, known by many foreigners by the nickname the “Land of Gold”. Expect to see articles on different topics and we would gladly welcome any engagement with you!
